EDUCATION SYSTEM
The learning methods used in private educations in the USA are practical and focused on the students’ interests. St. Thomas More School (STM) takes a holistic approach to education, focusing on the student’s intellectual, personal, and moral development. The academic approach of STM is supported by high-quality educators in classes of a maximum of 10 students. During classes, students can count on individual attention and get additional academic support if needed.
STM’s structure and curriculum are centered on college courses, allowing students to attain their full potential while also learning the necessary skills for success in college. In case the student needs extra support, they can join the STM student assistance program (SAP), ESL program, or their summer camps. STM also offers a postgraduate program (grade 13) for students who wants an additional year of college preparation. While historically STM is known as an all-boys school, they are welcoming female students since autumn 2021!
STM'S SCHOOL LIFE
The school’s mission is to welcome its students to a family atmosphere; a home away from home where students are celebrated and supported by the big family of STM.
Because of the small population of STM, it is easier to find everything and feel a sense of belonging faster. Students have a block of class schedule followed by co-curricular activities, individualized help sessions, and free time.
STM encourages students to participate in free-time activities because they value their physical and emotional well-being. During this time, students can work out, go for a run, a bike ride, or have a beach campfire, etc.
100% of the students live on campus with the mentorship of advisors, teachers, coaches, and dorm parents. Students are encouraged to make connections with others of similar age and interests. It can be accomplished by taking part in one of the school’s weekend activities such as going to the movie theater, amusement parks, attending sports events, or spending the day kayaking in their private lake – there is always something exciting to do!

DORM HOUSES
STM has a diverse population of students where they become part of a close-knit community. They have the support and guidance of dorm parents, who conduct frequent group sessions to keep an eye on them. Additionally, students will live in one of the STM dormitories: Kennedy, Edmunds, Benedict dormitory.
STM also has a resident advisor program that allows students to take on leadership roles to contribute to their welcoming community.
The school has some traditional events where every dorm floor and staff member participate to build a strong sense of community. Among all events, students’ favorite tradition is the chancellor’s hammer – a yearlong tournament in which different teams compete in a range of academic, service, and athletic achievements.
STUDYING
STM school is paving the way for with their individualized approach for students to achieve more – academically, athletically, personally, and professionally. The university preparatory curriculum at STM school enables all students to be accepted into college. The courses that students must follow are listed down below:

- The student has the capacity to integrate into a new environment

F1-VISa
The F-1 visa is for international students who want to enroll in a school or university in the United States to follow an academic or an English Language Program. Students may remain in the United States for a maximum of 60 days after completing their educational program unless they have applied and have been approved for work and residence application under the OPT (Optional Practical Training).
